Webinar: Conducting emancipatory research

| -

Emancipatory research shifts power to participants, enabling them to shape questions, design, and outcomes. Rooted in critical and feminist traditions, it challenges oppression and advances justice, agency, and transformation.

In this session, drawing on Swartz & Nyamnjoh (2018), we explore the research as freedom continuum, which includes interactive, participatory, and emancipatory approaches. We will also hear from Dr Alude Mahali on how these are practiced.

Webinar objectives:
• Understand the continuum of methods
• Deepen insight into epistepraxis
• Explore how ownership of research moves from mine → ours → theirs
