This webinar aims to build awareness, provoke reflection and stimulate practical steps for decolonising youth scholarship, especially for scholars and practitioners of the u’GOOD research programme, keeping the following objectives in mind:

1. To understand key critiques of dominant youth studies frameworks from the perspective of the Global South
2. To reflect on how mainstream theories are useful but insufficient for understanding Global South youth realities
3. To identify ways to develop or contextualise theories and methods that are grounded in Global South contexts
4. To discuss how the u’GOOD programme can contribute to a more democratic, decentralised and contextually responsive youth studies field
