Luchuo Bain

Luchuo Bain is an empirical bioethicist, research physician in global health and implementation research scientist. He has over 15 years of experience in adolescent and youth sexual reproductive health and rights, community engagement in research, gendered impacts of climate change on health, climate-resilient health systems, and monitoring and evaluation of public health interventions in low- and middle-income countries.

He worked on a WHO-TDR-funded grant on best practices in community engagement in research in Sub-Saharan Africa and a Social Science Research Council-funded project on Covid-19 mis/disinformation and vaccine uptake in Ghana.

He currently serves as a scientific collaborator with the WHO Collaborating Centre for Knowledge Translation and Health Technology Assessment for Health Equity at the Bruyère Research Institute of the University of Ottawa. He is a member of the WHO Sexual Health and Well-being Advisory Group (SWAG) and a board member of the Happier Lives Institute in the UK. He is also on the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF)’s International Medical Advisory Panel.
